Video effects

Shape the look of a clip with visible controls.

Select a clip in Studio and explore its Effects panel. Adjust color, light, or blur with the available controls. Preview the result in motion and keep the changes that serve the scene.

Studio runs in a desktop or laptop browser, not on a phone.

What you can create

Adjust the basic look

Use brightness, contrast, and saturation effects to change the picture. Compare the result across both bright and dark parts of the clip.

Build a visual effect stack

Add the effects your scene needs and adjust their parameters. Review their combined appearance instead of judging each effect in isolation.

Use blur with a clear purpose

The blur effect softens the clip. It does not identify faces or follow an object automatically through the footage.

From your idea to finished content

  1. Select the clip

Add your footage to Studio and select its timeline item. Open Effects to view the available options.

  2. Add and adjust effects

Choose an effect and adjust its controls. Start with small changes, then preview the clip before adding another effect.

  3. Check the whole sequence

Play the edited clip beside neighboring shots. Review color, detail, and readability before exporting.

Two effect editing checklists

Use these checks to assess changes across the entire clip.

Balance a dim shot

Adjust brightness gradually. Check faces and bright objects for lost detail. Compare the shot with the clips beside it.

Create a restrained color treatment

Adjust contrast and saturation. Check skin tones and product colors. Preview the treatment during movement and lighting changes.

Frequently asked questions

Which basic effects can I adjust?
Available effects include color controls such as brightness, contrast, saturation, and hue, plus blur and stylized looks such as chromatic aberration, scanlines, film grain, and vignette. The Effects panel shows the current choices and their controls.
Can I blur a moving face automatically?
The verified blur control affects the clip. It does not provide automatic face detection or tracked redaction.
Can I combine several effects?
Yes. Studio supports an effect stack. Preview the combined result because one effect can change how another appears.
Why are my effects paused?
Studio pauses the clip's visual effect stack when Greenscreen is enabled. Turn off Greenscreen to use those effects again.
