- Remove audio from video
Export your video without its original sound
Turn off a clip's audio in Studio while keeping its visuals. Create a silent sequence or replace location sound with music. Check other timeline tracks before exporting your video.
Studio runs in a desktop or laptop browser, not on a phone.

What you can create
Disable audio for a selected clip
Open the clip's audio settings and turn off Enable audio. The clip remains visible while its original soundtrack stays muted.
Keep control over other sounds
Review each video and audio track separately. Muting one clip does not silence music or narration elsewhere in the project.
Build a replacement soundtrack
Add an audio track after muting the source. Position music or narration against the visuals and review the combined timing.
From your idea to finished content
Place your video in Studio
Create a project and add the video to its timeline. Select the clip whose original sound you want to mute.
Turn off the clip's audio
Open the audio settings and switch off Enable audio. Repeat for any other clips that should play silently.
Listen through and export
Preview the entire project with sound enabled on your device. Check remaining audio tracks, then export the edited video.
Two audio removal checklists
These steps describe manual editing in Studio. Review every sound source before choosing your final export.
A silent product demonstration
Add the demonstration clip and disable its audio. Check that no other timeline tracks contain sound. Preview the full sequence, then export the silent version.
Music instead of location sound
Mute the original audio on each video clip. Add your chosen music as a separate audio item. Adjust its timing and volume before exporting.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I remove all original sound from a video?
- Yes. Disable audio on the selected video clip. Check additional clips and audio tracks if you want the entire export silent.
- Can I remove background noise while keeping speech?
- This workflow mutes the clip's whole audio track. It does not isolate voices, remove individual speakers, or reduce background noise.
- Does muting a video also mute added music?
- No. Separate audio items keep their own settings. Adjust or remove those items if the final video needs complete silence.
- Why does Studio show no audio controls for my clip?
- A video without an audio track has nothing to mute. Studio shows a message when the selected clip has no audio.
