Keep the right part of your video in view
Use Studio to adjust a clip's visible frame and position its content. Remove distracting edges or frame a detail more tightly. Preview moving subjects across the whole clip before exporting.

What you can create
Control the visible frame
Select a video and adjust its dimensions. Unlock the clip's aspect ratio to access its visible crop controls.
Place the subject manually
Use the framing controls to choose the visible area. Check that important faces, products, or gestures stay inside the frame.
Combine cropping with canvas sizing
Set the canvas dimensions for your output, then adjust each clip. Canvas size and clip framing control different parts.
From your idea to finished content
Add your footage
Create a Studio project and add the video to the timeline. Set the canvas dimensions for your intended layout.
Adjust the visible area
Select the clip and open its media settings. Adjust dimensions, unlock aspect ratio when needed, and set the framing position.
Preview and export
Play the full clip and check every edge. Revise the framing before exporting your finished video.
Two practical cropping checklists
Use these manual editing steps in Studio. Adjust the frame for your own footage and canvas dimensions.
A closer product view
Place the product clip on the timeline. Tighten the visible frame around the product and position it centrally. Preview hand movements so demonstrations remain visible.
A portrait layout from wider footage
Set a portrait canvas. Adjust the clip dimensions to fill the frame, then position the speaker within it. Check that gestures and existing captions remain visible.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between cropping and resizing?
- Cropping changes which part of a clip appears. Canvas resizing changes the output dimensions and can require another framing adjustment.
- Does the crop automatically follow a moving subject?
- No. These controls set the framing manually. Preview the entire clip because a moving subject can leave the visible area.
- Why can I not adjust the visible crop?
- Check the selected clip's aspect ratio lock. Studio enables its framing controls after you unlock that setting.
- Does cropping add content beyond the original video?
- No. Cropping uses the existing footage. It does not generate missing scenery or reveal anything outside the source frame.
