Why convert MP4 to WMA?

Create an audio-only Windows Media file from your MP4 recording. The converter uses the existing soundtrack and discards the picture.

  • Why leave MP4. An MP4 carries the picture too, so it is usually much larger than the audio alone when you only need the sound.
  • Why use WMA. WMA suits playback in Windows Media Player, older portable players, and legacy Windows libraries.
  • What you get. The WMA output uses Windows Media Audio at 192 kbit/s. Check that your destination accepts this format. The source needs an audio track. The output has no picture.
  • Kvalitet. Converting MP4 to WMA cannot improve the sound. The WMA holds only the audio track, so the sound inside the MP4 sets the best quality you can get. The sound in a video is usually compressed already, so WMA compresses it again.
  • Your rights. Convert only files you own or have permission to use.
